Vhive
Improving data collection using autonomous drones
Intro
Vhive is a drone management company helping Manufacturers and Landowners to control large areas of land. Its mission is to create A sustainable and scalable solution to manage large areas of land. I worked on the UX design of their Desktop and Tablet app.
Platform: Desktop, Tablet
My role: User experience design
UI Design: Create Studio

The problem
infrastructure companies need to know what is happening to their land over time, including roads, Telecommunications, Cranes, and more. Until today, this was accomplished exclusively by traveling by car every week. However, the use of vehicles did not provide complete control and made it difficult to compare previous cases.

Solution
Multi-drone system that photographs the area. Using a drone allows you to take pictures more efficiently. For companies, all of these can save time, money and boost control.

User research
During my research, I visited the field, activated the drone management system myself, and observed how operators work with today's systems.
We learned some crucial things ahead of the design phase:
Route planners
Most construction or infrastructure professionals don't know how to operate drones, but they need to plan routes and process information efficiently.
In the route planning and information processing phase, users need transparent and straightforward processes alongside complex processing and analysis capabilities. Using these tools will get a lot of information that takes a long time to collect and process in the past.
Operators in the field
Drone professionals who have experience with similar systems and need real-time information and control.
In the drone flight phase and technical operation of the system, the field operators need to know what is happening at any moment. Where is the drone, what is his speed, and more. They should also have an exit point in case of malfunction, such as returning all skimmers together.

Market research
We looked at similar products and parallel markets as part of the market research to get ideas for similar processes, for example:
How can we make planning easier for our users?
How can we help users become familiar with all the components of the system themselves?
How do users avoid making mistakes?
What can we do to make users feel like they control the product?
